Motion 200: Comprehensive Study of Motion 3
Course Description
This three-day intensive course introduces students to the basic feature set of Motion, Apple’s revolutionary software for motion graphics design. Topics include Motion’s Real-Time Design engine and interface, blend modes, advanced particle system design, advanced title animation, working with templates, chroma key techniques, masking methods, DVD motion menu design, tablet-driven gesture UI techniques, working with audio, keyframing, and integration.
Classes are taught by
Yan Shvalb, a graphic artist and author of two recent books released
by PeachPit Press: Authoring Professional DVDs with DVD Studio
Pro 2 and Advanced Finishing Techniques for Final Cut
Pro 4. He is an Apple certified trainer in DVDSP, Shake and
FCP and also teaches classes in Maya.
All students receive
the Apple Pro Training Series course book Motion 3: Designing
and Animating Motion Graphics in Final Cut Studio 2. There
is a maximum of eight students in each class, and each student
works at his or her own computer workstation.
The course fee is $1,500

This course is designed for anyone interested in creating motion graphics design.
Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of Macintosh OSX
Certification
Students who have completed Motion
200 are eligible to take the Apple-Certified End User Exam in
Motion 3.
As an Apple-Certified
Pro, you will have the ability to differentiate yourself to employers
and colleagues as a highly skilled user of this professional application.
You will receive a certificate from Apple distinguishing you as
an Apple-Certified Pro, and you will have the right to use the
Apple-Certified Pro logo.
Motion 200 students who wish to be
recognized by Apple as an Apple-Certified Pro have the option
to take the Motion 3 Level 1 End User Exam, free of charge, on
the last day of class, Friday, from 6pm to 9pm.

Discounts
Students who sign up for consecutive Elements and Motion courses receive a 20% discount off both courses. For Motion 200, the course fee becomes $1,200.
