DVD Studio Pro 101: Introduction to DVD Studio Pro

Course Description

This two-day intensive course introduces students to the full basic feature set of DVD Studio Pro. Students will learn to create a professional DVD title, from storyboarding and menu design to burning and replication, using real-world media and professional production workflow.

Classes are taught by Yan Shvalb, a graphic artist and author of two recent books released by PeachPit Press: Authoring Professional DVDs with DVD Studio Pro 2 and Advanced Finishing Techniques for Final Cut Pro 4. He is an Apple certified trainer in DVDSP, Shake and FCP and also teaches classes in Maya.

All students receive the Apple Pro Training Series course book DVD Studio Pro 4: Authoring Professional DVDs. There is a maximum of eight students in each class, and each student works at his or his own computer system.

The course fee is $1,000.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for anyone interested in authoring professional-quality DVDs.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of Macintosh OSX

Certification

Students who have completed DVD Studio Pro 101 are eligible to take the Apple-Certified End User Exam in DVDSP 4.

As an Apple-Certified Pro, you will have the ability to differentiate yourself to employers and colleagues as a highly skilled user of this professional application.  You will receive a certificate from Apple distinguishing you as an Apple-Certified Pro, and you will have the right to use the Apple-Certified Pro logo.

DVDSP 101 students who wish to be recognized by Apple as an Apple-Certified Pro have the opportunity to take the DVDSP 4 Level 1 End User Exam, free of charge, on the last day of class, Sunday, from 6pm to 9pm.
