FCP 300 and 350: Five-day Advanced Final Cut Pro Intensive
Course Description
This five-day hands-on course is designed to provide students with must-know professional cutting techniques for a variety of narrative and nonfiction material, as well as finishing techniques for color-correction and building effects. Combining instruction in advanced technical skill with relevant editing theory, the course teaches students not only how to build an edit, but also how to create drama, orient the audience, and compose effective sound design—while continuously emphasizing professional workflow and efficient project management.
Who Should Attend?
This class is designed for proficient Final Cut Pro editors who want to develop a fuller set of professional editing and finishing skills, including a better understanding of editing theory, as well as a more comprehensive mastery of advanced technical skills.
All students receive
the two Apple course books Advanced Editing Techniques in
Final Cut Pro 5 and Advanced Color Correction and Effects
in Final Cut Pro 5. There is a maximum of eight students
in each class, and each student works at his or her own editing
system.
The course cost is $2,000 or Five Apple Training Units.
Certification
Students who have completed FCP 300
and 350 are eligible to take the Level 2 Apple-Certified End User
Exam in Final Cut Pro 5.
As an Apple-Certified
Pro, you will have the ability to differentiate yourself to employers
and colleagues as a highly skilled user of Final Cut Pro. You
will receive a certificate from Apple distinguishing you as an
Apple-Certified Pro, and you will have the right to use the Apple-Certified
Pro logo.
FCP 300 and 350 students
who wish to be recognized by Apple as an Apple-Certified Pro have
the option to take the Final Cut Pro 5 Level 2 End User Exam,
free of charge, on the last day of class, Friday, from 6pm to
9pm.
Prerequisites
Students must have completed one of
the following prerequisites: FCP 100, FCP 200, The Six-week Art
of Editing Course, or have been working with Final Cut Pro for
over one year. In order to become Level 2 certified, students
must have taken and passed the Apple-Certified Final Cut Pro 5
Level 1 End User Exam.
Schedule
FCP 300 and FCP 350 is taught Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Students who have completed FCP 300 and
FCP 350: Five-day Advanced Final Cut Pro Intensive are eligible
to receive a 10% discount off the course fee for any one of the
following courses, if taken within one year of FCP 300 and 350:
DVDSP 101, Soundtrack 101, Elements, or Motion 200.
