Phil Shane
Phil is a documentary film editor with a wide range of experience. He edited The Last of the First, about the oldest living jazz musicians, which will premiere at the 2004 TriBeCa Film Festival; Ted Koppel's documentary about the war in Iraq, Tip of the Spear, which won the 2004 Alfred I. DuPont Award for Exellence in Television Journalism; and Paul McCartney and Alistair Donald's innovative documentary Wingspan, about Paul and Linda McCartney's life after the Beatles.

For ABC's series, The Century, Phil's program, Martin Luther King, Jr: Searching for the Promised Land, won the Emmy award for Outstanding Historical Program. Other documentaries that Phil has edited or co-edited include Andre's Lives (PBS, 1998), Concert of Wills: Making the Getty Center (PBS, 1997), and Green Chimneys (Sundance 1998).

Phil is also a founding member of the Leche Magica Film Group, a collective of comedians which grew out of the Upright Citizens Brigade. He co-produces and hosts Filet O' Film, a popular monthly festival of short films and live comedy at the UCB Theater.
