Please read and enter your full name below.

If an enrolled student cancels his or her enrollment the following terms will apply:

  1. If the student requests cancellation prior to one week (8 days or more) before the start of the class, he or she will be refunded 80% of the total cost of the class.
  2. If the student requests cancellation within a week (between 1 and 7 days) of the start of the class, he or she will receive a credit to re-enroll in another session within a year of the date of cancellation.
  3. After the class begins, there will be no refund of any kind.

Notice of cancellation or withdrawal must be made in writing.

Though there are no entrance requirements, please note that the six-week editing class is a rigorous and challenging program that requires familiarity and comfort with computers as well as individual initiative and motivation. Successful students are self-directed, energetic, focused, and computer literate.

Because the six-week course is based on the realities of the post-production world - taught by working editors on actual films - we cannot guarantee a standardized experience. Both the teachers and the projects vary from class to class. Class films may be either narratives or documentaries. Filmmakers' availability also varies. Filmmaker visits range in frequency from twice a week to once per class.

We always select the best film we can find for editing in our six-week class. However, as tastes and skill levels vary, all students may not be happy with a given film. This is a risk of taking the six-week course.

The Edit Center does not have a formal job placement program and we make no guarantees of employment after the class. If The Edit Center deems a student to be a disturbance to the class, we reserve the right to expel that student. In such case the student will receive no refund.

Each student who completes the six-week course will receive a hi-res Quicktime of the scenes they edited during the course for use on their private showreel for the purpose of gaining employment. Students registering for the six-week course must agree not to post their scenes online in unprotected or public forums (youtube, watchreel, etc.).

Upon completion of the six-week course, students will be invited to the Edit Center alumni listerve. The listserve is on online community whose purpose is to serve the Edit Center and its alumni. Any alumnus/a whose posts The Edit Center deems in conflict with this purpose will be removed from the listserve.

I read and understand the statement above. Please type your full name below to acknowledge that you agree to these terms and conditions:

When you click the “Submit your information” button, The Edit Center will send you an e-mail message acknowledging your registration. Your card will not be charged until we send you an e-mail confirming the class you selected is available.
